Overview

The Director, HR, Diversity, and Talent is a strategic partner, actively working with all levels and all functions of business. This role offers HR expertise and guidance in the areas of employee relations, policy development and interpretation, compliance, performance management, employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

 

The role is also accountable for Diversity and Inclusion and Talent, including strategy, outreach, and execution of programs such as talent management reviews, talent pipelining, and anticipating industry trends and incorporating best practices in our company’s inclusion initiatives.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops a comprehensive understanding of the business and provides strategic input on organizational issues such as culture, organization design, succession planning, employee engagement and employee relations.
  • Facilitates all employee relations issues and proactively works with leaders for resolutions aligned to our Core Values and that meet legal, compliance, and business needs.
  • Manages all performance management issues and coaches leaders at all levels in the organization.
  • Works closely with Human Resources, Legal, and Corporate Compliance on solutions that mitigate risk to the organization. Interprets policies and procedures while ensuring compliance consistently.
  • Participates in HR related team projects and strategic initiatives for the organization, as assigned.
  • Works closely with members of the HR Operations group to ensure the accurate and timely processing of information including LOA administration, onboarding and off boarding activities.
  • Coordinates with HR Team to track all leaves of absences, FMLA, State LOA programs, STD, LTD, and workers compensation.
  • Coach and lead business leaders and employees in all areas of performance management, both corporate and commercial employees. Processes include goal and objective setting, performance reviews and individual development.
  • Manage the recruiting strategy and budget, responsible for analyzing recruitment metrics and design strategies based on outcomes.
  • Provide the strategic direction for the design and delivery of talent acquisition hiring plans for geographically dispersed roles.
  • Leverage on Market understanding and knowledge to inform and influence the recruiting strategy, staffing decisions, program designs and leadership ability to differentiate our Company to that of a competitor
  • Ensure adherence to compliant recruiting and hiring practices in all transactions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience  

  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field. MBA or MS in Human Resources Management preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR experience

  • Skilled at operating in a complex, changing environment that requires collaboration across the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with strong sense of judgment and leadership presence.
  • Strong problem solving ability and analytical skills.
  • Highly skilled HR professional with expertise in the areas of performance management, selection, retention, and conflict resolution
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and applicable regulations/legislation.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
  • Travel approximately 15%

 

Physical /Mental Demands

  • Sitting – 80%
  • Standing/ walking - 20%
  • Repetitive motion: Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and or fingers for sustained periods of time. Approximately 4-hours of keyboarding per day.
  • Visual Requirements: Able to see and read PC screens and read fine print.
  • Comprehension: Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
  • Decision Making: Ability to make decisions which have impact on the company’s credibility, operations, and services.
  • Communication: Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials such as legal documents, authoritative reports, official publications of major scope and impact, etc and to make formal presentations.
  • Mathematics: Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures
  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and written instructions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own works schedule
